The Importance of Post-Production

1

What is Post-Production Interpreting?

Reach your audience at the moment they need you most. Whether that is one-on-one in-person or in groups, live online, or on a remote as-needed basis, a meaningful message is most successful when it is delivered with all abilities in mind.

REAL TIME
For your Deaf and hard-of-hearing audience, you may have found solutions for live events or online meetings or conversations. At DSU our goal is to help facilitate communication between Deaf people and hearing people. With a good plan in place, our interpreters are available for your live events or meetings almost anywhere in the country. If you’re carrying your tablet or computer, you’ve already got an interpreter with you with Video Remote Interpreting. By connecting with DSU, you are able to offer real-time interpreting services with access to a qualified interpreter using the technology you already own. Our services are offered in all 50 states!

NOT IN REAL TIME
For communication or content is not happening in real-time, that’s when post-production interpreting becomes the key to making content accessible to all. Consider post-production interpreting to better serve the needs of this community. Your creative team may not realize the options that exist for building a more inclusive campaign.

Post-Production services make recorded content accessible for Deaf and hard-of-hearing viewers with an overlay of American Sign Language Interpreting (ASL) and/or captions on the existing video, picture-in-picture. Check out our post-production interpreting and captioning on this Public Service Announcement published by the Iowa Department of Transportation. Guests receive the full explanation of how to adjust their drivers’ license so that it designates them as Deaf or hard-of-hearing.

Why Post-Production Interpreting?

Practical applications of where post-production would be helpful are occurring all around us on a daily basis. Add an interpreter and captions to a training video for easier viewing. When audio is not an option, add an interpeter to a public service announcement so that all viewers receive the whole message. Add post-production to recorded special events, so your event can be enjoyed over and over by all audiences. See the power of post-production captioning in this Durham Museum tour!

By ensuring all video content is inclusive, you not only demonstrate your commitment to diversity and inclusion but also position your business as a leader in an increasingly conscious and interconnected world.

Post-Production for Multi-Media

Post-Production interpreting and captioning expands your reach and makes existing media more inclusive and effective communication tools. Whether it’s a training video, orientation video, sales or marketing segment, consider submitting your media to DSU for your post-production estimate to make your message more valuable.
