Using Sign Language Interpretation View in Microsoft Teams

When Sign Language View is enabled, designated sign language interpreters stay visible in the main viewing area. Their video is larger, more visible, and of higher quality. Other participants can still be pinned or spotlighted. Using Sing Language View is a personal setting and will not change other participants’ views of the meeting.

How to Enable Sign Language View

  1. In Microsoft Teams, select the … ellipsis in the top right corner.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Select Accessibility.
  4. Click on the Sign Language toggle to activate the feature.

How to Assign Interpreters

This option is only available if the Sign Language option in the Accessibility tab has been activated.

  1. Select People to see the participant list.
  2. Find the interpreter and then select the … ellipsis next to their name.
  3. Select Make a signer.

You can also add an interpreter from the Participant list.

  1. Select the … ellipsis next to the interpreter’s name in the video.
  2. Select Make a signer.
