Using CART Captioning in Microsoft Teams
How to Enable CART Captioning
- Create and send a meeting invitation. Be sure to include the CART captioner if one is assigned.
- Open the meeting invite and select Meeting options from the toolbar.
- On the Meeting options page, click on the Provide CART captions toggle.
- Select Save. This will create a CART caption link.
- Under Provide CART Captions, a link will appear. Select Copy link.
- Paste the link to an email message and send it to your DSU coordinator. If you are unsure of your coordinator’s email, send the link to coordinators@deafservicesunlimited.com.
- Your DSU coordinator will ensure the CART captioner has the CART caption link.
How to Turn CART Captions On
- Go to your meeting controls and select More actions.
- Select Turn on live captions. CART captions will display.
How to Turn CART Captions Off
- Go to meeting controls and select More actions.
- Select Turn off live captions. CART captions will be removed from your display.
Best Practices for Using CART Captioning
- Speak clearly, at an even pace into your microphone.
- Avoid background noise.
- Allow one person to speak at a time.
